AddressCatering Services Manager / Chef
NWPH requires the services of a Catering Manager to lead it’s small team of dedicated food service staff. This hands-on role will suit a qualified Chef with experience in time management, supervising of staff and cooking for up to 70 patients and staff. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to maintain strict food hygiene standards and effective and efficient human and financial resource management.
Position Conditions
Full Time – Monday to Friday (day work)
Salary - $80k
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review patient menus ensuring well presented and nutritional meals to all customers.
- Comply with the departments Food Safety Plan and HACCP principles.
- Maintain statutory audit compliance and work with relevant authorities to ensure the same.
- Ensure effective, efficient staff rostering within agreed KPIs.
- Ensure all catering staff maintain a high degree of hygiene and cleanliness in all aspects of food distribution in accordance with the hospital’s Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
- Manage food service within allocated budget.
- Maintain appropriate supply levels of food stock and required consumables.
- Be aware of the hospital’s Emergency Policies and Procedures.
- Comply with all OH&S legislative requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in Catering Department Improving Performance (Quality) activities.
- Provide any therapeutic diets and supplements as required.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to new and existing catering staff.
Mandatory Requirements
- Trade certificate in cookery – Qualified Chef
- HACCP Food Safety Training Certificate
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Proven commitment to professional development and quality improvement
- Open honest approach with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to lead, coach and mentor a team
- Previous HR management – ability to conduct performance reviews and manage disciplinary issues
- Budgetary experience
