The Opportunity

Join our esteemed hospital Catering Team, dedicated to delivering the highest quality food service to our patients, visitors, staff and doctors

In this role, you will assist the Catering Manager with the daily operations and management of the Catering Team, ensuring excellence in service and efficiency

This will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Lead and supervise a fantastic team to achieve excellent standards in their roles through your knowledge, role modelling and positive actions
  • Proactively and with catering department key stakeholders participate in the effective rostering of staff and control of equipment and consumables as required
  • Ensure high standards of friendly customer-oriented service is consistently maintained
  • Assist in directing and supervising the planning, preparation and serving of food to patients, visitors, staff and doctors ensuring high standards are maintained and legislation is adhered to
  • Work with staff to review and maintain standards and performance through mentoring, action planning and performance reviews
  • In conjunction with the Catering Manager develop the strategic plan for the catering department to manage and prepare for future goals, KPI’s and intent
  • Deputise for the Catering Manager in their absence or as required. 

About You

You will have prior experience leading, coaching, motivating, and developing your team to ensure quality outcomes are achieved

Essential Skills

  • Experienced in leading a large multidisciplinary Catering Team within a hospital/ health care environment, or Degree/Diploma in Catering/ Hospitality
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced in all aspect of food safety HACCP principles and application 
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workloads
  • Experience supervising and managing staff across a Catering or Hospitality Department/Organisation
  • Ability to positively lead, support and motivate staff
  • Computer literacy

Remuneration: On offer is base hourly rate of $51.49 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances
