Are you passionate about driving positive outcomes and enhancing educational practices in a dynamic healthcare environment? Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Clinical Coding Educator.

As the educator for Clinical Coding you will assist with the management of change by identifying risks and anticipated points of resistance, and developing specific strategies to mitigate or address concerns. Integrate these issues into Clinical Coding training. You will continuously update educational knowledge, evaluate practice, and engage in peer review to identify professional development needs and opportunities for performance improvement.

You will produce high-quality educational materials, reports, submissions, and other documents associated with the role and maintain education resources and documentation in accordance with CCLHD procedures.


About You

  • You have completed a Australian qualification in Clinical Coding and/or a Degree in health Information Management.
  • You have extensive experience and competence in using ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS, including experience coding in a hospital with a broad range of specialties with a proven knowledge of Australian Coding Standards, DRGs and Casemix and their application in the health system.
  • You have experience in mentoring graduate coders including development and supervision with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal development.

Where You’ll Be Working

You will be located at either Gosford Hospital / Wyong Hospital or a combination of both within Health Information Services.
