This recruitment may be used to fill future positions for permanent, temporary and casual positions.
You'll be leading, managing, developing, implementing and reporting on Clinical Coding activities, including auditing, training and education for continuous improvement in competence and knowledge of all clinical coders. Working with the clinical documentation specialist team to ensure clinical documentation is complete, specific, unambiguous and codable to reflect the accurate complexity of each episode of care.
If you have:

• Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent tertiary qualification, and/or relevant qualifications and experience in Clinical Coding auditing with eligibility for membership of HIMAA
• Demonstrate high level experience and competency and extensive recent Clinical Coding experience at tertiary level using ICD- 10-AM and ACHI with a thorough understanding of the Australian Coding Standards and an excellent understanding of Casemix, DRGs and Activity Based Funding models and their application within the health system
• Demonstrated ability to lead, conduct, measure, validate and sustain coding quality improvement activities in relation to clinically coded data, including coding audits, error correction, analysis and presentation of results
• Demonstrated experience in developing, designing and delivering education and training programs related to Clinical Coding
• Ability to extract data from source systems and data warehouses and implement and use available coding audit tools to review, trend, analyse, benchmark and evaluate coding quality, and report on these activities in a suitable manner
• Ability to independently feedback individual coding quality results to coding team members, documentation issues with documentation specialists and clinicians to ensure coding is optimal
• Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, prioritisation and organisation skills to confidently and courteously communicate with people at all levels and manage a high workload to meet productivity targets and strict deadlines
• Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment
