Join our dedicated team as a Vocational Specialist with headspace at Gosford and Lake Haven, where you will play a pivotal role in the Individual Placement Support (IPS) Trial. This initiative aims to enhance the educational and employment prospects for young people with mental illness, helping them transition successfully into the workforce and reduce long-term welfare dependency. Working closely with the Senior Vocational Specialist, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of this impactful program.

As a Vocational Specialist, you will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the IPS Trial, ensuring compliance with IPS Practice Principles and CCLHD policies. You will take referrals from headspace staff and service partners, delivering vocational assistance to young people with mental health issues. Managing a caseload, you will liaise with clinical teams, families, and employers to achieve positive outcomes, while developing strong networks with service providers and employers. Your role includes promoting the IPS Trial, developing referral pathways, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
About You  

  • You will have a highly developed understanding and experience in the vocational services sector.
  • You have a current NSW Drivers' Licence, and willingness to travel and work in an outreach model.
  • You have experience working with a youth population with mental health issues.
