The position is casual and classified as an Instrumental Music Tutor.The position entails 3 hours of teaching in a small group setting. These groups form the core of our compulsory Year 2 String Program and will consist primarily of cello students with the occasional double bass student. There is also the scope for Private Instrumental teaching.In this role, the Music Tutor will focus on the following,Delivering quality instrumental lessons to primary-aged students

• Collaborate within a large String Team and the wider Music Department and School
• Assist the Head of Strings to promote the lower strings within the school
• Attendance at Rehearsals, Concerts and Soirées when required

• Be a dynamic, innovative, and motivating musician
• Report on student progress using the reporting processes and platforms used by the School
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students and staff
• Contribute to a highly motivated team
• Collaborate with the Head of Strings and Head of Music to support the development of the whole school music program.

Skills and Experience

• The applicant will demonstrate a good understanding of cello teaching and have teaching skills specific to young beginners.
• Proven tutoring experience within a school music program
• Knowledge of how to teach the cello and double bass
• The successful applicant must have relevant professional experience and qualifications (Bachelor of Music).
