Form of workLocated in Willowbank, Norwood Park Pty Limited trade as Ipswich Cemeteries in Queensland and proudly operate Ipswich Crematorium as well as four cemeteries in the Ipswich area.
We currently have opportunities for enthusiastic grounds staff to join our small team and assist in the day-to-day cemetery operation on a casual basis.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Successful applicants will be required to perform burial and cremation duties as well as a wide variety of general grounds and garden maintenance tasks.
To be successful you must have:
- A current Driver’s Licence and your own reliable vehicle (essential)
- Skid steer loader ticket (essential)
- Excavator ticket (essential)
- Current National Police Clearance, or willing to obtain (essential)
- Truck Licence (preferred)
- Evidence of the Covid -19 Vaccination (essential)
- A positive attitude with the ability to show initiative
- Moderate to high level of physical fitness
- Ability to work as part of a small team and follow instruction
- A sympathetic nature with the ability to show empathy when dealing with the public
About the role:
- General cemetery maintenance including grave preparation, mowing, slashing, trimming, weeding and cremation duties
- Operation of skid steer loader and excavator
- Operation of general equipment such as brush cutters, hedge trimmers, ride on mowers and blowers
- Use of chemicals for weed and pest management
- Assisting the public with ashes inurnments and memorial plaque installations (some heavy lifting will be necessary)
- Knowledge of cemetery operations will be highly regarded
