The Impressions Early Education vision is focused on nurturing each child’s unique learning journey. We are a small family business with an ambitious and experienced leadership team who recognise the importance of creating a nurturing and engaging environment for our little learners.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our BRAND-NEW Ripley centre will be licensed for 160 children a day across eight studios (classrooms). We are scheduled to open in March 2024, so we are now looking for an experienced Centre Chef who is passionate about preparing fresh and wholesome meals for up to 160 children a day.
In this role you will work autonomously to:
- Prepare a wide variety of nutritious meals, purees and special diet meals for babies and children as well as freshly baked treats for families daily,
- Enjoy greeting and interacting with our families in a friendly manner and provide barista service (training provided if you are not experienced with this).
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements
- Provide culinary classes alongside our educators to even the littlest in our centres.
- Menu planning, in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines;
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Queensland Health Department requirements.
- Oversee a small kitchen team (including one to two kitchenhands) to deliver quality meals on time to our mini humans.
With oversized outdoor play spaces, additional support staffing levels over the required ratio and a dedicated “Caretaker Team” for each centre (including a centre cleaner and a gardener), we are confident we are on the right path to setting a new benchmark in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

Essential Criteria:
- Experience in planning a rotating menu (including children with allergies and intolerances) suitable for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years
- Confident in stock rotation, budgeting, and shopping for the kitchen.
- Completed minimum of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or willingness to obtain.
- Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Current Working with Children's Check or application in place.
- Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates or willingness to obtain.
- Current Child Protection Training or willingness to obtain.
- A willingness to place the children’s best interest at the heart of every decision.
- Possess a solution orientated attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously.
- Possess excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen.
Desirable Criteria:
- Prior experience working in an early childhood or aged care kitchen is advantageous but not essential.
