Certificate III Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology Apprenticeship

Work & Training in conjunction with our valued client, are offering a full-time apprenticeship, to undertake a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical qualification. Under supervision, you will learn the necessary skills to service, maintain and repair vehicles, whilst working in a team environment.  As a trainee you will also be responsible for workshop cleaning and assisting other members of the team with servicing and problem diagnosis in the auto field. 

The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of current Work Health and Safety procedures, be expected to adopt a flexible approach to work requirements, and portray a professional image at all times.

Essential Criteria:

• Good mechanical aptitude or a strong interest in the industry;
• Willingness to undertake further training and development as required;
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a highly motivated team;
• Positive work ethic;
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks when required;
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and maintain quality in own work;
• Demonstrated excellent skills in communication;
• Ability to take direction;
• Able to work with oils, greases, petrol and diesel;
• Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety requirements;
• Driver’s license.

Desirable Criteria:

• Certificate I in Automotive or similar VET course qualification.

Aptitude testing will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process, and strong results will be considered favourably.

The successful candidate will undertake a medical assessment including drug testing, and need to pass a National Police Check.
