About Cottage Kids Community Preschool:
Cottage Kids Community Preschool is a well-established and nurturing early years preschool located in the heart of Berkeley Vale, NSW 2261. Providing care for 47 children from 2 years to school age, 5 days a week from 7am-6pm.
Our preschool is dedicated to providing high-quality education and care to young children, fostering their growth, development, and establishing them as lifelong learners. We are proud to integrate a nature-based pedagogical philosophy and the Reggio Emelia approach into our curriculum, promoting a holistic, play-based and child-centred learning experience.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated educator who shares our commitment to nature-based learning and service philosophy. The ideal candidate will have a strong love for working with children, a deep appreciation for the natural world, and the ability to create a warm and stimulating learning environment. As an educator at Cottage Kids Community Preschool, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our unique educational philosophy and supporting those within our community.
*negotiable - 4-5 day per week role
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and evaluate a nature-based curriculum that reflects a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards.
- Create opportunities for children to explore and connect with nature in our outdoor environment.
- Foster children's curiosity, creativity, and self-expression through open-ended activities.
- Document and display children's learning experiences and discoveries.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to create a dynamic learning community.
- Observe and assess children's progress, keeping records of their development.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III or Diploma in early childhood education and care or equivalent.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Child protection qualification.
- Strong understanding of the Child Safe Standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
