The team have the monumental task of ensuring that 40% of the Australian economy are able to transact over $90 billion a day using the Bank’s services in a reliable manner. With the payments technology systems being at the heart of the Bank, almost every customer-facing channel relies on payments services in one way or another.We are currently looking for an Engineering Chapter Area Lead for Payments. Our engineers are critical in delivering reliable and increasingly immediate payments experiences that our customers deserve and expect. As Chapter Area Lead, you will work closely with the Chapter Leads to drive the engineering practices across our technology delivery teams, adopt CI/CD tooling and the transition to cloud. You will work with the engineering teams to increase delivery velocity and deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers and business stakeholders.In this role, you will be part of the Payments Technology leadership team that is accountable for technology strategy, delivery and operation of the Bank’s payments technology estate.Do work that mattersThe Chapter Area Lead Payments Service Management is an Executive Manager level role and you will report to the Technology Lead Payments. You will work intimately with business leaders and technology partners. In this role, you will:Help build a high performing team across Australia and India backed by a strong, results oriented and fun culture.Work closely together with the Crew Tech Leads in Payments to drive the Payments and strategic Technology agenda including the ongoing simplification and increased resilience of the technical assets that support the payments estate;Drive the adoption of cloud across the Payments technology estate to deliver a significant increase in resilience, availability and delivery velocity;Develop and drive the journey to CI/CD across Payments Technology to significantly increase the delivery velocity, including the environments strategy and test automation strategy that underpins this;Grow and maintain relationships / networks within the Bank to support effective engagement at senior levels within the Bank (GM+) to influence and drive outcomes for the Group;Work closely with the Payments Service Management teams to drive the transition to DevSecOps across the Payments domain;Actively develop the risk culture of the team, buying down risk, whilst achieving compliance obligations.Actively contribute to making Payments Technology a world-class technology organisation.We’re interested in hearing from people are:People focused with the ability to attract exceptional engineering talentThought leader in engineering for real-time mission critical systemsExperienced in placing critical workloads in private and public cloudExtensive background in Financial Services (preferably Payments)Hands-on experience in adopting DevSecOps across enterprise platformsExcellent communicator with strong influencing skillsTechnology or related tertiary qualificationsWhat now:This is a highly rewarding, career minded opportunity that will lead you on to great things.
