About the role

We are currently seeking applications from MCU Operators for permanent positions to work on our client site in the Central West of NSW, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional city of Orange and a 3 hour drive from Sydney.  Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport and other services such as childcare; with surround wineries and national parks to enjoy. Click the link https://www.orange360.com.au/The-Full-360 to explore what Orange has to offer.

These roles will operate on a 7 days on 7 days off roster.  It is anticipated that candidates will be residents, or be willing to relocate to the Orange Region. DIDO can be offered for experienced candidates.

This a fantastic opportunity to train in the implementation of the latest blasting technology with a global leader in their field.

What you will be doing

  • Operating our MCU vehicles (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and other associated blasting plant and machinery in both Development and Production;
  • Providing operational blasting support to our client’s blast crews and associated stakeholders;
  • Assisting with preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance on all associated plant and machinery;
  • Assisting with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products into blast holes in an underground environment;
  • Working in tight unison with your teammates to provide excellence in service to our valued customer; and
  • Demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always'.

What you will bring

  • A commitment and attitude toward Safety, Health and Environment;
  • Previous experience working as an underground Charge Up operator (preferred), however, training will be provided;
  • Previous experience operating an MCU or similar blast product delivery vehicle is desirable, however, once again, training will be provided;
  • Medium Rigid (MR) vehicle license or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement;
  • A current SSAN or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement, you need a clean police record to do so;
  • The ability to pass an Underground Medical + Chest X Ray and Drug and Alcohol screen.
