The Role:
Tulum Restaurant is currently looking for an exceptionally talented Commis Chef to join our award-winning, one-hatted venue. Tulum provides a dining experience incomparable to any other, coupled with world-class degustation offerings. A huge achievement to Tulum, being recognized as the only Turkish Restaurant in the prestigious Gourmet Traveller Top 80 Australia's Best Restaurants.
With a focus on growing our team, our kitchen is currently searching for passionate, fully qualified, and experienced chefs to join us on a full-time basis. We are looking for exceptionally talented chefs with demonstrated experience in fine dining, but above all, our ideal candidate has a desire to learn and a commitment to achieving the very best. This role will see you work with our Head Chef and Executive Chef to create unique and exciting dishes using outstanding local and seasonal ingredients.
Our ideal candidate will possess a genuine excitement and passion for the industry, and the desire to build on an established career with an internationally recognized hospitality group. Above all, you will be professional, positive, and curious about everything that goes on in our wonderful industry.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Experience working in fine dining (Hatted, Michelin star, or equivalent)
Exceptional presentation and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
Possess a strong work ethic
Excellent food knowledge
A desire to perform at the highest level
This is a full-time position that will require flexibility and weekend work, your shifts and may comprise of a combination of day and night shifts in accordance with business demands.
As this position is full time, candidates must have full working rights.
