The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Chef, to join the Site Services team at our Garden Well Village. This is a permanent role, working on a 2:1 FIFO roster (ex-Perth).
About the Role
- Set and maintain a high standard for food preparation and food quality
- Follow set menus to provide a variety of quality and nutritious food
- Maintain the catering/kitchen/dining room area to statutory hygiene standards
- Check and review critical food stocks on a regular basis
- Monitor and manage all personnel activities and issues involving subordinates
- Monitor and maintain effective cost control in line with the budget
- Maintain regular and effective communication, relationships and feedback with peers, subordinates and superiors
- Ensure that all personnel working under your direction (contractors and employees) receive adequate instruction during each shift.
About You
- A Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
- Demonstrated experience in a commercial / industrial kitchen, preferably in a mining environment
- Food Safety Certification
- Forklift ticket (desirable)
- A current WA manual driver's licence
- A current First Aid Certificate
- Ensure that workplace safety standards are maintained
- Is self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrating initiative to extend themselves and expand their knowledge
- Can work without supervision and under pressure on a rotating roster of 1 week dayshift, 1 week nightshift.
