Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Catering Chef to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for a skilled chef who thrives in a flexible work environment and enjoys the autonomy of running a kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing and executing catering orders throughout the week and leading the culinary efforts at events on Saturday evenings during wedding season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and cook a wide variety of high-quality dishes for catering events.
- Develop and refine menus to meet clients’ needs and preferences.
- Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, food purchasing, and cost control.
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.
- Oversee the setup and execution of catering services at events, ensuring smooth operation and client satisfaction.
- Train and supervise kitchen assistants and support staff as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a chef in a catering or restaurant setting.
- Strong culinary skills and creativity in menu planning.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions autonomously.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including preparation during the week and events on Saturday nights.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Valid food handler certification and knowledge of food safety standards.
- Experience in Buffets and Banqueting a strong advantage.
