Renowned North Shore Italian Restaurant seeks a full-time Chef to join our friendly Team at our popular Italian restaurant with a focus on superior customer service and quality at the forefront of everything we do.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook food as per the menu.
Develop and plan menus and daily specials.
Manage the kitchen alongside the Head Chef on a day-to-day basis.
Oversee and supervise all kitchen staff.
Manage the kitchen during the Head Chef’s leave periods/rostered days off, including food and staff costing.
Oversee stock levels and ordering of food supplies. Ensure wastage is minimised by careful supervision of food preparation methods.
Guide kitchen staff through cooking procedures and demonstrate techniques where needed.
Ensuring food quality and taste is of the highest standard from preparation to presentation.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
Discuss with kitchen and restaurant staff issues or feedback regarding food preparation.
Coordinating with kitchen and FOH staff to ensure flawless service.
Qualification Required
Relevant Diploma + 2 years relevant experience
Experience Required
3 years relevant experience as a substitute to the qualification
Skills Required
Excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills;
Demonstrated professionalism in similar roles with a good attitude, superior organisational skills, punctuality and reliability.
Well-presented and comfortable working in an alfresco setting.
A team player, with ability to work under pressure during busy times, without compromising quality.
