Edge Early Learning Strathalbyn provides quality childcare and kindergarten programs tailored to children aged 6 weeks to school age. Our Educators encourage children to explore new interests, and we celebrate these together as we learn through a range of different topics such as sustainability, numeracy and literacy, relationships, senses, emotions, and more!

Could you be the person we are looking for?

We are looking for an experienced chef, or a Kitchen Hand for a fixed term contract from March 2024 until September 2024, to prepare healthy and nutritious meals for all of the children within the centre as well as routine cleaning, stocktake and meeting all the requirements of our Food Safety Program.

Our successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 1.30 pm.

To be considered for a role, you will enjoy forming ongoing professional relationships with children, families and team members, as well as hold: 

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role.
• Certificate III in Hospitality considered for Kitchen Hand role
• Current Working With Children Check.
• Understanding of early childhood nutrition, dietary guidelines, health and hygiene of a kitchen as per regulatory and company guidelines.
• Ability to complete all Food Safety Supervisor Paperwork.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willing to attend online training).
