Purpose of Position:
As a Chemical Mixing Manufacturer, your primary responsibility is to safely and accurately blend chemical materials to create base mixtures for our commercial and hygiene care products. Your meticulous work will lay the foundation for our production assistants to transform these mixtures into saleable goods.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Adhere strictly to all site safe operating procedures and the EHS policy, ensuring full compliance with safety instructions and the proper use of defined PPE.
- Immediately halt work in the event of any safety concerns, isolate the issue, and promptly report it to the Plant Manager.
- Maintain and promptly report any issues with issued PPE, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Follow instructions from the Plant Manager meticulously, ensuring efficient and accurate Chemical Mixing in both liquid and powder forms as per the manufacturing route card.
- Take samples of new master batches for QA testing and collaborate with the Chemist to fine-tune mixtures for optimal outcomes.
- Provide hands-on training to Production Assistants, ensuring their adherence to Safe Operating Procedures and fostering their skill development.
- Actively participate in the site's OH&S committee, conducting risk assessments, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for enhanced workplace safety.
- Maintain cleanliness in equipment and work areas, promptly reporting any issues with mixing equipment or PPE to the Plant Manager.
- Contribute to annual stock takes and fulfill any other duties as required.
- Ability to meticulously follow procedures and execute Chemical Mixing tasks with precision.
- Strong dedication to safety and quality in the workplace.
- Proficient numeracy and literacy skills.
- Physical fitness for tasks involving regular lifting and manual handling.
- Forklift license is desirable but not mandatory.
