The opportunity:

Based in Coolaroo, Victoria, the Chemist, will provide Primary packaging analyses with respect to: Integrity, Specification conformity and Test Pack.

The Role:

Reporting to the Primary Laboratory Manager, your key outcomes will be to;

• Communication and Laboratory reporting to internal customers/divisions
• Priorities testing and lab resources to ensure efficient and accurate testing is completed in the lab
• Ensure systems are followed which ensure best workflow practices
• Ensure routine calibrations and servicing of equipment is conducted
• Beverage Can (Aluminium) packaging experience with regards to package integrity and assessment of customer filling characteristics. eg. Carbonation Volumes and Air level assessments of Beverage Cans etc.  Vacuum, Seam integrity, Corrosion characteristic identification Aluminium Beverage Cans etc.
• Maintains a safe and environmentally responsible workplace by following Visy OHS & E Policies, including housekeeping practices based on 5S principles.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Liaise with Primary Packaging sites/Internal customers – seek clarification on work requests and advise on suitable testing to achieve end goals. 

What you will bring to the team:

• Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related discipline
• Electro-Chemistry is desirable
• Graduates are encouraged to apply
• Ability to work autonomously as required
• Ability to liaise with others to efficiently problem solve
