About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician who will report to project/task leaders. This role will involve the setting-up and operation of equipment, collecting, and compiling data and planning and carrying out experiments under professional supervision.
Responsibilities will include:
- Design equipment and apparatus for experiments to meet project requirements
- Conduct experimental work and ensure that the data obtained is reproducible, accurate, appropriately recorded and reported in a report-ready format
- Work collaboratively to ensure laboratories are functioning effectively through sharing of knowledge and expertise
- Independently plan workload to meet project outcomes and deliver on time to meet constantly changing client requirements
- Ensure laboratory meets quality assurance and continual review practices for improvement
- Tertiary qualifications in chemistry or related field
- Experience working in a chemical or metallurgical laboratory, highly desirable
- Hold a current driving licence
- Conduct routine and non-routine experiments under minimal supervision
- Plan experiments, collect and present data
- Basic computer skills
- Follow policy, procedures & guidelines
- Demonstrate personal qualities that will add value to the work group
