About the Opportunity
SafeWork SA (SWSA) is responsible for providing work health and safety, public safety and state-based industrial relations services across South Australia. As a regulator, Investigators and Inspectors ensure work health and safety, and public safety standards are met and appropriate action is taken when breaches of laws are detected.
The primary purpose of the Chief Advisor, Psychosocial is to formulate and provide high-level advice to SafeWork SA on current and emerging psychosocial hazards, with particular focus on the development of psychosocial risk management strategies, proactive programs, and educational resources.
Drawing upon a wide range of research, best practice guidance, data capture and analysis, the Chief Advisor, Psychosocial will design and implement initiatives, programs, and projects to support SafeWork SA’s leading contemporary regulation of psychosocial risk within South Australian workplaces, in consultation with key internal stakeholders such as Subject Matter Experts (SME), organisational psychologists, Executive Group staff and authorised inspectors.
The Chief Advisor-Psychosocial is required to work with all teams within the compliance and enforcement directorate (CAED)

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Some out of hours work, including intra-state and interstate, requiring overnight absences may be required.
A current driver’s licence is essential.
