Teachers and school administrators employed at Australind Senior High School in 2024 are eligible to receive an of $5,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.About the RoleAustralind SHS is seeking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic Health and Physical Education teacher who is responsive to change and is willing to support an inclusive education catering for a variety of learning styles across Year 7 to Year 12. There is a particular opportunity for the successful applicant if suitably qualified to teach ATAR and/or Certificate Courses. Outdoor Education and Physical Recreation classes may also be possible.About the TeacherWe are seeking a talented, dedicated Health and Physical Education teacher with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The successful applicant should be able to display a strong commitment to the following:
  • Plan, teach and deliver to classes in both Lower and Senior School
  • Create and design face-to-face lessons with clear learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Use existing learning materials and develop your own as required.
  • Document and maintain assessment results in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and monitor student learning and course progress.
  • Play a role in student consultations, assessment grading and moderation.
  • Create an interactive and positive learning environment for students.
The successful applicant should possess the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant HPE curriculum through a variety of programs that are relevant to Year 7 to Year 12 students' needs. The interest and ability to teach relevant General and ATAR courses would be an important skill set, and a Current Trainer and Assessment qualification would be beneficial. You should be able to demonstrate teaching and learning strategies that support all students to engage positively.Our SchoolAustralind SHS is located north of the highly desirable location of Bunbury with easy access to the wider Southwest region.
