The CEO reports to the APVMA Board, and is an ex officio member, which is accountable to the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. The CEO is responsible for the day‑to‑day management and decision making of the APVMA, including regulatory decision-making functions and powers conferred by legislation.
With a reputation for scientific rigour and integrity, current priorities include continuing to build operational capability and develop a purpose driven culture that drives efficiency, effectiveness and innovation.
The Board is seeking to appoint an outstanding people leader with strong experience in regulatory decision-making and strategically managing regulatory issues. The ability to work effectively with the board and develop external stakeholder relationships will be critical. Experience in scientific, regulatory, agricultural, and related industries will be well regarded.
