Macquarie Hospital North RydeWhat you'll be doingThe Pharmacist Grade 5 supports the Director in managing the services of the department. This includes responsibility for Dispensary (Inpatient and Outpatient), Clinical Trials, Distribution, Clinical and Production Services. The Deputy Director position is also integral to the facility's formulary management and medication safety programs and compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Standard 4, as well as the management of pharmaceutical expenditure.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (or eligible for immediate registration).
- Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice in a major teaching hospital.
- Effective organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks in order to deliver safe and efficient patient services within a complex and dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in promoting safety, quality improvement and best practice.
- Ability to provide positive leadership to a team of health professionals including the capacity to improve performance and resolve conflict.
- Understanding of the supply chain and financial matters pertaining to hospital pharmacy services.
