About the role:
A great opportunity for a sonographer with dual radiographer registration, with a passion for remote and Aboriginal health.
In this position, you will be the sole imaging practitioner providing general services to the emergency departments and inpatients of the Bourke and Brewarrina Hospitals, as well as outpatients of the surrounding communities. This position provides outreach services 1 day per week at Brewarrina Health Service with access to fleet vehicles.
You will be supported by a team of relief radiographers and remote operators.
The case mix is skewed towards obstetrics and general sonography and you will bring a well rounded set of clinical competencies with a dual radiographer registration to the role, with the ability to perform some higher level administrative functions as well as the clinical duties.

In accordance with the requirements of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Regulation 2013, any person engaged in NDIS related work is required to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) clearance as part of their employment with Western NSW Local Health District if successful for this role.
Where you’ll be working:
Medical Imaging is an independent business unit within the Service Delivery directorate across WNSWLHD. This network will provide the direct reporting line and operations support to this position. This position will report to the procedural Chief Radiographer located at Parkes Health Service and General Manager of imaging services. Operational daily collaboration with health facility/ies MDT will be required.
Bourke Multipurpose Service (MPS) is a modern hospital with a wide range of services including 35 inpatient beds, emergency department, ambulatory care, aged care residential ward, X-ray and pathology departments as well as extensive outpatient services including, dialysis unit, mental health and child and family services. The MPS is co-located with a community health centre.

Brewarrina Multipurpose Service (MPS) is a 20-bed health facility which includes residential aged care facilities. The MPS has 24-hour emergency care, outpatient services including renal dialysis and a range of primary and community health services.
The small yet beautiful town of Brewarrina is situated on the banks of the Barwon/Darling River, 375 kilometres northwest of Dubbo and 130 kilometres south of the Queensland border.
