The Role

We are looking for an experienced CTO to join our team and drive our software product to the next level. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Python Django (DRF) for the backend, React Typescript for the frontend, and Electron JS for the desktop app. We’re looking for an exceptional individual, with the ability to strategize the product roadmap and see through these development priorities. To lead a skilled team and be an active contributor to key stakeholder meetings. The ability to work in staging and production environments without causing issues for paying clients. Must have a strong attention to detail, be self-paced, task oriented, and be careful and thoughtful with the work they produce. We need someone with up-to-date knowledge and strong adherence to development best practices. Betmatic endeavors to not only to build an industry leading product, but a world class technology asset, this person will lead the way alongside a passionate team of industry experienced stakeholders.

Remuneration / Opportunity

$120k - $150k p.a plus super, dependent on experience. Future earning progression available as company KPIs are met.

Structure of Role
This is a full-time role that must be completed over 5 days per week, there is a set requirement to work Wednesday & Saturday due to the nature of Betmatic’s development & product requirements. Due to working Wednesday’s & Saturday’s, you have the flexibility to select your remaining 3 days per week around this requirement. In time, this will be subject to change as our team grows and you develop leaders from within to provide further development support around you. 

Responsibilities

Leadership;

• As it grows, lead a team of engineers and developers, hiring, training, and motivating a team of talented engineers and developers.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies, reading industry publications, attending conferences, and networking with other technologists.
• Represent the company at industry events, speaking at conferences, giving presentations, and participating in panel discussions.
• Work with the investors and other senior executives to align technology with business goals, understanding the company's business goals and objectives, and developing technology solutions that support those goals.

Technology & Development Management

• A deep knowledge in the following tech stacks: 
  - Python Django (DRF) for the backend
  - React Typescript for the frontend
  - Electron JS for the desktop app
  - CICD using Git Actions / Kubernetes 
  - AWS for infrastructure (RDS, EC2)
• Develop and implement the company's technology strategy, including identifying and evaluating new technologies, developing roadmaps for their implementation, and ensuring that they are aligned with the company's business goals.
• Manage the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and applications. The CTO must ensure that the IT infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure.

Cyber Security

• Ensure the security of the company's IP, including developing and enforcing security policies and procedures, and monitoring for and responding to security threats.
• Lead the development of the organisations Cyber strategy and roadmap.
• Assess and manage cybersecurity risks, ensuring the organization's digital assets are protected.
• Uplift the organisations Cyber Security Capability Maturity.

Role Requirements / What you’ll need;

• 8+ years experience in software development.
• Degree in computer science or a related field.
• Ability to speak fluent conversational and business level English.
• Proficiency in Python Django (DRF) for the backend, React Typescript for the frontend,
  and Electron JS for the desktop app. React/Typescript experience is highly
  advantageous but can be provided to another developer.
• Experience in web scraping/automation.
• Strong understanding of REST API development.
• Plan development sprints in accordance with the company's priorities and ensure
  timelines are met.
• Experience in AWS, accreditation advantageous
• Ability to thoroughly test and check completed work before moving into production
• Ability to use GitHub and CLI as required
• Ability to liaise with backend developers to connect frontend functionality with backend
  Functionality
• Ability to track time at a per task level using JIRA task ID references
• Ability to use chat and video calls via Discord and other mediums
• Ability to adhere to code practices, including but not limited to:
  -  Concise, broken down segmented functions
  -  Extreme limitation on the use of duplicate or redundant code
  -  Well commented and documented code
  -  Up to date usage of functions and language
