About the job;
Yawarra Community & Child Care Centre is a Community Controlled Aboriginal Organisation (ACCO) committed to delivering outstanding learning experiences to children aged 2-5. Located in Bidwill, our service is designed to cultivate a nurturing, Culturally Safe atmosphere, fostering children’s development, creativity and social skills.
As the Director of Yawarra Community & Child Care Centre, you will hold a pivotal role in shaping the Cultural & educational journey of our young learners. Your responsibility will include leading a team of dedicated educators, collaborating closely with families and the local community and ensuring high-quality care and education in alignment with our philosophy and values.
Your work will include;
• Overseeing all operations of the service, including the ability to develop a budget in consultation with the Management Committee
• Leading, guiding and supporting a team which provides quality education and care to all children
• Developing positive and collaborative relationships that support children, their families and the community
• Ensuring a high-quality learning program is implemented for individuals and groups of children
• Leading the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the service
• Ensuring the service maintains Quality Assurance accreditation
• Providing and maintaining a safe and supportive work environment that is inclusive of all staff
• Continuously fostering a good relationship with the local Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community
• Working for an organisation which has our community at the heart of all that we do
• Helping to shape the next generation
Who we are looking for;
• ACECQA assessed Early Childhood Teachers, Bachelor degree qualifications or working towards
NESA accreditation
• Previous experience in a leadership role as Centre Director
• Excellent leadership, mentoring and communication skills
• Ability to establish, foster and nurture collaborative partnerships with families, our local community and other ACCO’s.
• Excellent knowledge of the NQS, EYLF
• Experience in the quality assessment process
• Current first aid & CPR certificate or willingness to obtain one
• Demonstrated understanding of governance principles and ability to model best practice

• Package- $45.00 to $53.00 per hour + 11% Superannuation, + RDO’s. Salary will be based on skills and experience
• Hours of work: Full-time, 38 hours per week. Applicants must be able to work a range of shifts from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm
