About the roleAs a CWU Aboriginal Consultant Officer, you will be joining a team of Child Protection and Wellbeing experts who conduct Child Protection and Wellbeing risk appraisals as well as assist and advise NSW Health workers to respond to vulnerable children, young people and families they come into contact with during their work.
The role also provides specialised cultural consultancy advice that promotes and advocates Aboriginal community engagement for the coordination of integrated services for Aboriginal families and children across Health and Community Services.
The Western Child Wellbeing Unit receives telephone calls and e-reports from health workers in the geographical area of the local health districts of Western Sydney, Southwestern Sydney, Nepean Blue Mountains, Western NSW and Far West, as well as staff from the Children’s Hospital Westmead.
