Job description

The Role 

Montessori Academy is currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to lead a fantastic team in our brand new Gungahlin campus.  This is a great opportunity for an experienced Childcare Centre Manager or Centre Director to lead a fantastic team and take Montessori Academy's already outstanding educational program to the next level. Our early learning campuses have a great team environment, amazing development and training opportunities, and beautiful facilities inside and out! The ideal applicant will have 2+ years of proven management and leadership experience in a similar setting, a passion for early childhood education, an in-depth understanding of the National Quality Framework, a Degree in Early Childhood Education, and an understanding of the Montessori Philosophy. This role is highly dynamic and fast paced, giving the right candidate the opportunity to work autonomously and truly make the service their own.

Key Competencies

• Strong understanding of industry legislation, compliance and regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding of business management 
• Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment  
• Strong understanding of the importance of family communications 
• Leadership and mentoring skills 
• Excellent management skills 
• Curriculum planning skills
• Understanding of the Montessori Philosophy 
• Experience working with preschool aged children 
• Passionate about implementing early learning programs 
• Commitment to the holistic development of their class 

Essential Criteria 
• 2+ years' experience managing a childcare service
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (approved by ACECQA) or higher equivalent
• Current Working with Vulnerable People Check
• Ability to work Monday to Friday 
• First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one 
• Understanding and working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, which includes: National Regulations, National Quality Standards (NQS), and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
