Childcare Centre Floating Cook

Kinda Kapers is a family owned group of Long Daycares with locations across Newcastle and the Hunter. We cater for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. 

We are currently seeking a cook who is highly motivated and enjoys cooking nutritious and wholesome meals for large groups of children. 

This position is for a Floating Cook who will relieve centre cooks when they are on leave. Our centres our open 5 days a week Monday till Friday, hours can be between 4-8hrs per day depending on the size of the centre. 

Applicants should hold:

Essential

• Working With Children Check.

Desirable:

• Safe Handling of Food Certificate.

About You:

• Ability to work autonomously with good time management skills.
• Caring and nurturing nature.
• High level of professionalism and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Knowledge of the Food Standards Australia.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for between 36 - 140 children (including food for children with special dietary requirements and allergies)
• Follow Set Recipes and Menus and order groceries according to weekly menu.
• Work in accordance with food safety regulations for safe and hygienic handling, storage and preparation of food and drinks.
• The ability to comply with relevant food handling legislation, childcare regulations, and centre policies and procedures.
