Our client is searching for a Girlswear designer with a proven history creating commercial childrenswear ranges. It's a new category for our client so previous experience with kidswear is essential for the success of this role.
It's a great opportunity for a creative candidate who would like strategic involvement in the direction of the ranges, yet wants to be hands-on with the design.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a product which fits the range plan and in time within the critical path.
- Build colour palettes, source and develop fabric and trims, and direct print concepts for development.
- Assist in research/development of exciting print designs for Australian/Global markets.
- Provide ideas to discussions regarding the tone and visual language, Press / Marketing/ambassadors and support ideas and for these external relationships/projects to fuel ideas back to product and design.
- Support buying team and drive design to source stock fabric to enable the design team to react to in-season trade
- Present concept boards and colour palettes with key silhouettes
- Take full responsibility for department KPI performance & Positively contribute to a cohesive team environment
- Experience in childrenswear - ideally girlswear
- Solid understanding of textiles, garment construction and applications
- Significant leadership experience
- Proactive & Highly Organised
- Eye for detail and fashion-forward handwriting
- Computer literacy in Computer literacy in InDesign, Illustrator, CAD and PowerPoint
- Computer literacy in desktop products, including Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word)
