Reporting to the CHPP Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting engineering compliance and promoting a safety culture across site. You will help provide safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions to current and future electrical challenges. You will be part of electrical engineering projects from inception though full life cycle.

About the Role

  • Provide advice and support across the complex relevant to your professional area of expertise.

  • Actively investigate enhancements to standards, procedures, and processes in areas of expertise that achieves improvements in safety, reliability, performance, job satisfaction and productivity.

  • Ensure all documentation pertaining to site electrical systems are maintained to as-built status, in line with statutory requirements, and stored appropriately in the site Document Control System.

  • Maintain knowledge of best practice within field of expertise, share interesting and useful information across the business, as appropriate.

  • Utilising the Mine CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to support maintenance compliance of the sites Electrical systems as part of the Asset Management Framework.

  • Develop the understanding of others to support and implement engineering improvements and maintain a practical knowledge of the work environment to which engineering support is provided.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders.

  • Conduct site inspections and routine audits to enforce compliance with Legislative requirements, HSEC Standards, Policies, Rules and Work Procedures.

  • Implement action plans with input from the team for the treatment of risks.

Roster and Location

  • Monday to Friday professional roster.

  • Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road).

About You

  • A tertiary or post trade qualification in Electrical Engineering (or working towards with demonstrated history of success).

  • An unwavering commitment to best practices in health, safety, and environmental management.

  • The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.

  • Strong desire to obtain a certificate of proficiency and practicing certificate as an electrical engineer at a coal mine.

  • Experience with the maintenance and asset management of fixed plant electrical, instrumentation and control equipment (desirable).

  • Experience with improvement projects to upgrade or replace electrical, instrumentation and control fixed plant assets (desirable).

  • Experience with the development of electrical standards and procedures, the application of risk management, and auditing and assurance activities (desirable).
