In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.Job DescriptionA rare opportunity exists for an experienced Shift Supervisor to join and lead our well-established production team at our Dawson Mine CHPP in Moura, QLD. The Dawson operation is a large open-cut coal mining operation with one of the largest Coal Handling and Preparation Plants in Australia. Dawson Mine is showing no signs of slowing down, estimating a whopping 16 years of operational mine life.The Shift Supervisor (CHPP) will Coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources to ensure that CHPP activities are undertaken in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner in line with agreed operational standards and targets.Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the production teams to safely deliver the annual coal production plan by optimising activities and continually improving the performance of the Coal Handling Processing Plant.The core function of the Shift Supervisor (CHPP) will be to manage the performance of all CHPP production activities, deliver against agreed targets and schedules, while ensuring that tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner and aligned with relevant mining legislation.This role will involve significant interaction with maintenance personnel and supervision of maintenance activities as required. As the key production interface at the CHPP you will be accountable for effectively managing the performance all production staff including contractors and maintenance personnel when required.This role will see you utilise your CHPP expertise to trouble shoot plant technicalities, as well as have the confidence to make decisions to ensure the best outcome for the operation and team. Your drive for continuous improvement will be key to success in this role.Qualifications

• Qualifications in a CHPP/Trade related discipline would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Significant experience within a coal processing plant environment (CHPP Operations)
• Demonstrated Supervisor experience in a CHPP environment
• Supervisory Competencies S1, S2, S3

Desirable:

• G2- Facilitating Risk Management
• G3 - establish the Risk Management System
• Apollo Root Cause Analysis
• Trainer Assessor competency
• SAP experience
