City ofCanada Bay Local Planning Panel Call for Community Members
The City of Canada Bay Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from local community representatives to become a member of the City ofCanada Bay Local Planning Panel.
Note: Councillors, property developers and real estate agents are ineligible for membership of the Panel.
The community representatives will alternate attendance at meetings and join three other State appointed professional members on the Local Planning Panel.
The community representatives will be appointed to the Panel on a part-time basis commencing July 2024. Remuneration rates for members and any allowances are set by the NSW Minister for Planning and Public Spaces.
Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from members of the local community who can demonstrate experience and understanding on the basis that they:
- Currently reside within the City of Canada Bay Local Government Area
- Have an appreciation of the issues of concern for the local area
- Have a basic understanding of the planning system, i.e. knowledge of the City of Canada Bay’s Local Environmental Plan, Development Control Plan, and Local Strategic Planning Statement, and,
- Are committed to following the Code of Conduct and Operational Procedures for Local Planning Panel members.
The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment has developed guidelines and operational requirements for Local Planning Panels. If you are interested all Expression of Interest applications must include a current CV, and be received by Council by close of business on 5pm Friday, 21 June 2024.
