Do you want to be part of a proactive team that is involved with growing the Toowoomba Region? The Water and Sewer Maintenance Section forms part of the Water Infrastructure Services (WIS) Branch. It is responsible for carrying out the Passive assets management and maintenance of the community Water supply and Wastewater collection pipeline networks. These works are essential for maintaining public health, protecting the environment, and promoting sustainable water management.  The Water and Sewer Maintenance Section services a region encompassing Toowoomba, Crows Nest, Oakey, and Millmerran of operational works entailing:

  • Reactive Water/Sewer works.
  • Programmed Water/Sewer works and private works.
  • Supply network Bulk Water mains works.

We are on the lookout for a dynamic and driven individual to join our team. The person we are looking for will provide technical advice, support and direction to the Junior Engineers, Technical staff and Maintenance staff.   You will provide advice on policy matters, review engineering drawings and development applications, in addition to liaison with internal and external stakeholders.  This is your opportunity to shine and display your amazing engineering skills, out of the box strategic thinking and comprehensive knowledge and experience.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Possession of mandatory qualifications, including, a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil or Environmental) from a nationally recognized university with at least 5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in design, construction and maintenance of water and wasteWater Infrastructure assets is essential.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is desirable (or experience such as to be eligible for registration at this level).
  • Possession of a WH&S Competency Card for CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (or a willingness to obtain this competency before commencement).
  • Possession of a current ‘C’ Class Driver’s License.
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
