OPPORTUNITY

Due to our company’s growth, we have a unique opportunity for a Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team. This full-time, permanent role is based in our Robina office.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide accurate and efficient design and drafting services to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing design calculations for both commercial and residential structures, covering footings, slabs on the ground, suspended concrete slabs, structural steel, and timber framing. 
  • Specialising in the design of concrete and fiberglass pools and transportable buildings. 
  • Collaborating with the Drafting and Engineering team for project development. 
  • Utilising computer-aided design (CAD) software to create comprehensive and detailed designs. 
  • Producing design sketches, diagrams, and layouts to illustrate workflow. 
  • Involving in diverse residential projects, including renovations, additions, and complex timber and steel-framed structures. 
  • Handling drafting tasks, including the development of drawings from initial concepts to detailed, finalised drawings. 
  • Conducting on-site inspections and preparing detailed reports. 
  • Issuing certificates for construction projects to ensure adherence to Australian Standards for all designs. 
  • Prepare sketches, charts, tabulations, plans, and designs for Civil Engineering projects such as drainage, water supply, sewerage systems, roads, airports, dams, bridges, and other structures.
  • Inspect Civil Engineering works and organise and supervise maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials and soils and collect data for traffic surveys.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of an AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) or a minimum of three years of relevant experience as an alternative to formal qualifications.
  • Thorough understanding of drafting standards.
  • Strong background in science, mathematics, and engineering technology.
  • Deep technical proficiency in the field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work well in a team, demonstrate initiative, and recognize when to seek further information
  • Accuracy, neatness, and patience in drawing work.
  • Motivation, listening, and problem-solving skills.
