We have two part time opportunities available for 2nd or 3rd year Civil Engineering students to join our Regional Engineering team located at the Old Station, Townsville.
As a Civil Engineering Student your role will involve providing Civil Engineering services to support the business unit in delivering high-quality, commercially focused Civil Engineering solutions across our regional Network.
About the role
- Assist in designing and documenting railway Civil Engineering infrastructure projects
- Utilize strong influencing, decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and represent Queensland Rail
- Identify and suggest opportunities for business enhancement, technological advancement, and innovation
- Collaborate within a team of engineering experts to ensure the delivery of efficient and commercially viable Civil Engineering solutions
- Understand the requirements of professional practice and the Quality Management System to consistently deliver Civil Engineering services that comply with safety, operational, and environmental legislation, regulations and practices
About you
- Able to apply Civil Engineering methods to solve problems and create valuable engineering outcomes for commercial value to Queensland Rail
- Able to comprehend a project or a part of a larger project and produce engineering results tailored to suit business needs
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster relationships with stakeholders
- Able to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement that enhance commercial value
- Exhibit leadership by delivering engineering solutions within a dynamic project team
- Able to understand the legal and regulatory landscape relevant to railway infrastructure projects

This opportunity offers a flexible work arrangement, where you may work up to two days per week during study periods and full-time during study breaks. Only current Civil Engineering Students will be considered.
