Your New Career
Our Civil Operation team provide Civil Maintenance services throughout the Surf Coast region and are currently looking for a Civil Maintenance Officer to join their team located at the Winchelsea depot. The Civil Maintenance team primarily undertake work on sealed and unsealed roads, footpaths and drainage assets.
What you will bring to the role
The successful applicant will love working outdoors, providing services as part of the day labour work team involved in Civil Maintenance. You will enjoy undertaking civil works out amongst our communities, including by the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment. As a team member you will also provide assistance to your colleagues to ensure agreed productivity service levels are met.
Key Selection Criteria
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a current driver’s licence (minimum MR, preferably HR) with relevant endorsements to operate plant as assigned
- Skills and knowledge gained through on-the-job training relevant to the position
- Several years’ experience in civil works
- Experience in maintenance of municipal assets
- Pre-employment medical assessment
- You have the permanent right to live and work in Australia
- A current Working with Children Check
- Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council)
A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in Local Government.
- Previous experience in a similar role with three years’ experience.
