SADB is seeking an experienced and energetic Civil Project Engineer to join our expanding team.
This role involves working on a range of infrastructure projects, including installation of Water, Electrical, Communication, Sewer and Storm Water pipelines using both trenching and HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) methods.
You will be part of a dedicated and focused delivery team, contributing to the successful completion of these types of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scope of Works & Contracts: Assist in developing scope of works, material take off and contracts for sub-contractors.
- Variation Management: Support the Project Manager in managing and approving project variations.
- Design Review: Conduct reviews of tender design documents to ensure SADB’s compliance with project specifications.
- Tendering and Procurement: Assist the Business Development Department with tender documents, construction methodology, procurement processes, material take off, expediting, and overseeing site installation and commissioning.
- Project Completion Documentation: Assist with the documentation required for practical completion of projects.
- ITPs: Oversee Graduate Engineers with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and assist with Construction Methodologies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background: Degree in Civil Engineering, but other Engineering degrees will be considered based on work experience and industry knowledge.
- Experience: Previous experience in Project Engineering, particularly in construction projects related to Pipeline infrastructure (preferred but not essential).
- Project Management Knowledge: Familiarity with project financial management, forecasting, procurement, design, and contracts management.
- Professional Acumen: Strong communication skills and professional demeanour.
