About the Role
As the Civil Engineer on site, you will be responsible for supervising site works associated with one or more of the civil contractors for the project, ensuring the project is delivered in accordance with the project frameworks. You are responsible for supervising all aspects of the assigned site civil works.
Design and Supply
Be fully aware of project requirement associated with the supply and installation of the civil works to:
- Assist in ensuring the civil and structural design is progressed in a timely manner such that the various interface requirements are met.
- Ensure civil/structural and geotech inspections are conducted in compliance with Principals Requirements (ITR/ITP templates) other appropriate plans (IFCs and Civil Specifications) and accurate quality documentation is provided.
- Work with OE on certification of completeness for milestone payments
- Work with the site team members on the interfaces and overall installation management.
- Assist in reviewing the design for compliance with the Principals Requirements in collaboration with the OE.
- Undertake reviews to ensure the various supplied materials are in compliance with the various contractual requirements and applicable laws.
Site Civil Works
Civil engineer needs to be fully aware of all ongoing civil site activities and provide assessments of those activities on the overall project. This will require:
- Verification of the civil contractor’s performance, contract compliance, quality etc.
- Ensure the clearing works do not exceed those limits stipulated within the various development approvals.
- Close liaison with site team to ensure any issues are being handled in accordance with the various contract requirements to ensure installation works are not delayed.
- Management of the handover of the civil assets to Windlab Asset Management team including the provision of the various quality and operation documents
- Assist in completion of QA documentation in preparation of completed civil works.
- Civil Balance of Plant (cBoP) Design Supply and Install contract.
- Oversight of the civil elements (Earthworks and Foundations at Substations and O/H lines) of the Electrical Balance of Plant (eBoP)
- Installation of the civil works in accordance with the contract requirements
- Ensuring compliance with the various Development Approvals
- Site safety audits to be carried out as per Windlab requirements.
Contract Administration
- Ensure that all project contract requirements are implemented.
- Ensure Company policies associated with contracts are adhered to.
- Support the preparation of contractual claims and variations as required.
- Confirm the progress of works in support of payment and variation certification process.
- Assist with reporting and processing monthly cost recording and processing.
- Provide vital input for all project reports are provided in accordance with the project and company requirements.
- Produce and/or assist in estimating with guidance on costings and commercial matters.
- Identify and potential areas of claim or variation from the contractors.
- As part of our Graduate Development Programme, you will be required to support and mentor talented graduates, ensuring their growth and success whilst on site.
Who we are looking for!
As a key member of the construction project team, you will have comprehensive experience with both industrial and construction design. It is essential that you have technical and commercial knowledge of earthworks, pavement/road, drainage, concrete, and foundation design, with a track record of working on large, complex infrastructure/construction projects.
Having and understanding of project management, construction and engineering processes and methodologies is required.
You will be able to use your initiative, solve problems through analytical thinking; & make decisions within a driven construction environment.
