values that have allowed us to grow our operations since 1997 About the roleDue to the high level of growth and expansion into new markets, XL Precast QLD is currently seeking Expressions of
Interest for a Civil Quality Assurance Engineer for a permanent full-time position. Key
responsibilitiesThe successful applicant will report to the Operations Manager on a daily basis, and the required tasks are as follows:o
Provide technical advice/support to the Operations Manager on quality related matters.o Preparing
Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists and work packs to ensure quality requirements are captured.o Ensure all work is carried out
in accordance with quality and safety while documenting projects daily.o Monitor concrete for cost, root causes and consistency.o
Coordinate closure and ensure completeness of all construction work packages.o Prepare
method statements for construction activities by working with contractors.o Monitor progress and report on the assigned areas of work.o
Review construction drawings for adequacy, completeness, and interfaces.o Participate
in engineering design reviews.o Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and
negotiating variations to designs.o Spot-check compliance of concrete strength testing, slump tests and concrete consistency.o
Undertake underground field inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with quality of work output, schedule compliance.o
Respond to technical questions from external parties.o Provide
technical support to Operations team post commissioning and handover.o Support commissioning in verifying plant performance to meet design parameters.o
Assist in quality assurance and quality control of ground support such as verifying ground support element quality, support element storage and quality of ground support installation.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a Civil Engineering Discipline or Construction ManagementMinimum of 2 years of related technical experience within a project delivery environment
Technical knowledge to interpret drawings, specifications, and quality records.Previous experience with Project Document Management SystemsA strong work ethic, commitment to safety and a can-do-attitude. Desirable Skills:Leadership and team management skills
