Civil Tendering Manager

SUMMARY:

The Civil Tendering Manager will play a crucial role in the successful management of a tendering and estimating team, specifically focusing on managing the tendering process for civil engineering projects. This role involves overseeing the preparation and submission of bids for major construction projects, ensuring that all tender documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner. The Civil Tendering Manager works closely with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers, to secure projects and negotiate contracts.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and business acumen to successfully secure civil engineering projects through competitive bidding processes. Responsibilities:

• Reviewing Civil tender documents and assessing project requirements.
• Writing and submitting methodology statements for government tenders.
• Preparing cost estimates and budgets for civil construction projects
• Collaborating with internal teams to gather necessary information for tender submissions.
• Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Developing pricing strategies to enhance competitiveness in the tendering process.
• Evaluating risks associated with each project and proposing mitigation strategies.
• Attending pre-tender meetings and site visits as required.
• Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements during the tendering process.
• Negotiating contract terms and conditions with clients and vendors.
• Managing and coaching the current team members on the above practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven experience in civil engineering tendering or estimating roles from start to finish.
• Familiarity with construction contracts, specifications, and drawings.
• Demonstrated ability in preparing methodology statements for government tenders.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
• 5+ years experience in a similar senior management role tendering on government projects.
• Strong analytic skills and attention to detail.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• Proficiency in ProCore, JobPac, Microsoft Office, MS Project and other related software.
• Certification from professional bodies related to civil engineering or construction management.
• Demonstrated successful tender submissions leading to project awards.

Selection Criteria:

As part of the selection process, you will be required to demonstrate ability in writing methodology statements, proof of tenders on a project from beginning to end and provide 2 professional references. A project portfolio and or supporting documentation will be required if you are shortlisted for this role.
