Due to continued growth, Longitude has a new opportunity for a Claims SpecialistLarge Loss & Complex to join our busy team in this hybrid role, with ‘office days’ being located in North Sydney or Brisbane. The role sits within the Longitude Insurance Claims Team, supporting the Longitude Insurance agency.
Reporting to the Claims Team Leader this role is primarily responsible for managing Strata claims. The workload is constant and the ability to work accurately and manage multiple stakeholders whilst under pressure is a prerequisite of this position.
As the business has seen strong growth over the past several years, we are looking to expand the size of the claims team.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Provide a professional claims handling service to clients designed to provide solutions, achieve best possible cost outcomes and claims experience and enhance the client/broker/insurer relationship.
- Manage an end-to-end portfolio of Large Loss & Complex Strata Property claims within a delegated level of authority.
- Respond to claim notifications and service enquiries within internal and external compliance requirements.
- Liaise with customers, internal and external parties to coordinate claim resolution.
- Ensure professional conduct is maintained at all times to positively promote the Company and insurance industry.
Skills required to perform the role:
We are looking for somebody who has a knowledge of claims processes and procedures, as well as a broad knowledge of various insurance products.
Additionally, someone who has the following skillset would excel their potential in this role:
- Two plus years property claims experience with an Insurer or an agency that grants authority for indemnity decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, manage time effectively and meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of State/Territory specific legislation as it applies to insurance related matters.
- Literacy in technology and systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A Certificate III in General Insurance or equivalent is desirable.
