Local youth detention centre is looking for a cleaner/kitchenhand to join their team and must hold a WWCC
Your new company
This role will be working within a Youth Detention centre in the Brisbane area.
The role is working Monday to Friday with the possibility for weekend work. The role will be working between the kitchen, working as a kitchenhand and for the afternoon working as a cleaner, cleaning the facilities or working in laundry.
Your new role
Your role is to perform cleaning tasks utilising a range of materials and equipment to clean various surfaces and maintain facilities in a safe and hygienic condition.
- Daily cleaning of classrooms, bathrooms, offices, kitchens and common areas.
- Operation of hand held equipment; vacuum cleaners, blowers
- Removal of rubbish, and appropriate disposal of rubbish, including rubbish to be recycled in accordance with site requirements
- Ensuring a professional and approachable manner is maintained
- Kitchenhand duties, food prep, washing dishes, food safety, delivery of meals, cleaning of the kitchen
What you'll need to succeed
- Valid working with Children's Card - Blue card
- Current National police check
- Food Safety certificate
- A strong work ethic, including the ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team
- Demonstrated experience in providing cleaning services in accordance with a service standard
- Familiarity with and previous use of a range of materials and equipment to clean surfaces, site areas and maintain clean and hygienic conditions in work area
- Ensuring the delivery of quality services
- The ability to work under pressure, including an eye for detail
