The Cleaner in Charge (CIC) is responsible for inducting, training, leading and managing cleaning staff including relief staff; monitoring and ordering stock supplies within your budget; maintenance and stocktake of cleaning equipment; undertaking cleaning of allocated internal and external areas; opening and locking the school, including setting the security alarm system; and conducting a daily hand over with the Manager Corporate Services.The successful applicant ideally should have good attention to detail and the ability to work well with others to ensure a clean and safe school environment. The successful applicant will ideally need to be organised, reliable and punctual. - Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to induct, coordinate and supervise the work of cleaning staff.
- Experience in school or commercial cleaning.
- Experience in the safe storage of cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals.
- Ability to recognise and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines.
