- Boutique Project Management consultancy, role is overseeing a head contractor on site
- Marquee Luxury Residential demolition and new build house circa $20m+
- Project located in Eastern Suburbs. 5 days per week (Working part time, ie half days).
As Clerk of Works, you will be responsible for the daily delivery of high quality and on-time construction projects, ensuring that the projects are completed to documented drawings, specifications and nominated timeframes and overseeing the head contractor.
You will be working on a new build $20m+ luxury Residential project based in the Eastern Suburbs area of Sydney. You will be based on-site, and working 5 days a week however only working half days so is essentially a 5 day a week part time role which will go for about 2yrs+.
Years of experience:
15 – 20 years+
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Making sure that work is carried out to the client's standards, specification, correct materials, workmanship and schedule
- Becoming familiar with all the relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them and using them as a reference when inspecting work
- Making visual inspections
- Taking measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and the materials meet the specifications and quality standards
- Being familiar with legal requirements and checking that the work complies with them.
- Having a working knowledge of health and safety legislation and bringing any shortfalls observed to the attention of the Project Manager.
- Advising the contractor about certain aspects of the work
- Trade or building related qualification
- Minimum 15 – 20 years’ experience in site supervision of construction projects including planning, programming and management of onsite staff / subcontractors
- Construction Safety Induction (White) card
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Desirable – Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety
- Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards relating to building sites
- Proven ability to lead and motivate subcontractors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
