About us
You will be working in a boutique 2 doctor practice who have been providing services on Brisbane's north since 2000, established practice for over 20 years. The practice is located on Brisbane northern suburb, Pine Rivers region, about 30 minutes from CBD. The clinic offering a wide variety of treatments including skin cancers, General Practice, skin cancer minor procedures as well as other procedures such as vasectomy, baby and adult circumcision, medical and cosmetic laser treatments and some cosmetic treatments.
We are looking for suitable candidate for about 3 to 4 days per week to assist with mainly administrative duties and some clinic duties. Rates will be based on experience and training, according to guidelines from Fairwork Australia based on MA00027 or EN equivalent.
Qualifications & experience
- Experience with Medical software is essential, as this is required for medical reception duties such as data entry, processing private and Medicare payments.
- Essential medical administrative skills including handling of private information, consent forms, filing, scanning, taking payments.
- Medicare knowledge is highly desirable as this knowledge is required to calculate medical fees and processing medicare rebates for patients.
- Experience in General Practice clinical assistance skills is desirable to ensure appointments and procedures run smoothly. Skills including helping with sterilisation of re-usable instruments, set up minor operations.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Assist with running medial practice efficiently. The majority of the work relates to reception and administrative duties, which includes the following:
- Dealing with patient phone enquiries, booking appointments using Practice Software, calculating medical fees, taking payments (both private and Medicare payments) and processing medicare rebates for patients where relevant.
- General office duties including filing, scanning, printing appropriate forms and information for patients, providing patients with appropriate consent forms, organising reminder letters and follow up, booking routine service for equipments (such as air conditioners, steriliser, lasers and other machinery), order stationery.
- Some clinical assisting duties include: help doctor set up for minor operations, clean and sterilise re-usable instruments, checking vaccine fridge temperatures.

Many of the above skills can be taught and learned, however, the candidate who possess most skills will be considered first.
