Where you'll be working
Macquarie Hospital is a public psychiatric hospital located on a large, leafy campus, with one acute and eight rehabilitation wards. Our multidisciplinary teams focus on providing trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care with the goal of improving outcomes in the least restrictive environment.
What you'll be doing
The clinical psychologist is a vital part of the multidisciplinary team, and provides individual and group therapy, assessments, and transition planning for people with complex mental health needs.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Full general AHPRA registration as a Psychologist and is either endorsed within their area of practice or able to progress through the registrar program, with a minimum two-year full-time equivalent postgraduate Master's degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, or Forensic Psychology.
- Demonstrated clinical experience working with adult consumers with complex and chronic mental health issues. Experience working with consumers with behavioural challenges, including aggressive behaviours. Experience working with consumers with cognitive impairment preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in a minimum of two evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.
- Experience in conducting psychometric assessments and behaviour support plans for adults. Knowledge regarding a wide variety of psychometric tests. Excellent report writing and communication skills.
