What you'll be doing
Senior Forensic/Clinical Psychologist provides supervision and clinical leadership for Allied Health staff working with addiction and antisocial problems across the Drug Health Network. The role provides higher level competence in delivery of evidence-based and recovery-focused psychological services, including assessments, formulations, and interventions for cSenior Forensic/Clinical Psychologist provides supervision and clinical leadership for Allied Health staff working with addiction and antisocial problems across the Drug Health Network. The role provides higher level competence in delivery of evidence-based and recovery-focused psychological services, including assessments, formulations, and interventions for consumers and their families/carers, expert consultation to multidisciplinary teams, other health professionals and key stakeholders in diverse mental health, medical, hospital and community settings.
Given the high frequency of co-occurring addiction, mental health disorders and antisocial problems including violence and crime, the Senior Forensic/Clinical Psychologist applies specialised forensic clinical leadership to address complex problems and manage risks to consumers, their families/carers and community. Senior Forensic/Clinical Psychologist supervises treatment plans for consumers who present with antisocial problems and comorbidity, including personality disorders and behaviour problems. They provide supervision to Clinical Psychology trainees and training where appropriate for other health professionals to enhance staff responsiveness to these clinical areas, improve treatment efficacy and consumer outcomes.
Senior Forensic/Clinical Psychologist consults with a range of staff to collaborate on complex cases and liaises externally with stake-holders to maintain service relationships including legal and ethical standards. Senior Forensic/Clinical Psychologist leads evaluations, quality improvement and research initiatives to validate and progress interventions, and promotes best practice procedures for the Drug Health Network.

Essential Requirements:
- Qualification: Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Masters in Forensic Psychology
- Registration: General Registration with the AHPRA including area of practice endorsement as well as registration as a clinical supervisor
Selection Criteria:
- Minimum five years of experience working in a Forensic/Clinical Psychologist role and minimum of three years of experience in a Forensic/Clinical Psychologist role post practice endorsement in either forensic psychology or/and clinical psychology.
- Current Psychology Board Approved Supervisor with demonstrated experience and investment in providing clinical supervision to psychologists and other allied health.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the available Health Services and clinical complexities related to treatment of substance use disorders including staff roles, the nature of multidisciplinary collaboration and comorbidity.
- Specialised forensic knowledge and skills in providing assessment and treatment for complex cases, including antisocial behavior problems and patients involved with the criminal justice system.
- Capacity to lead evaluation and research projects, translate findings and provide specialised training.
- Advanced problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills including a high level of consultation skills with professional bodies and organisations regarding psychological treatment.
- Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia (unrestricted) and willingness to travel within and outside the Local Health District as required.
