The Role
Under the broad direction of the relevant Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), take a lead role in the development and promotion of efficient and effective provision of high quality, accountable and measurable healthcare based on best practice clinical principles to foster a learning and research culture in the clinical environment.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Practice and Standards:
- Provides advanced clinical leadership, direction, and change management to facilitate the progression of strategic objectives for Surgical and Perioperative Services through the development and implementation of associated standards of practice, models of care, relevant service policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provides advanced clinical expertise and leadership in patient safety and quality initiatives/activities and programs across Surgical and Perioperative Services and offer specialist advice, information, and consultation to staff to meet statutory, policy and regulatory requirements related to safety and quality including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
The Team
The Trauma and Acute Surgery Unit (TASU) is a fast paced, acute ward environment, and prides itself on a high standard of acute general surgical and trauma nursing care. We are seeking Registered Nurses to join the team who are dynamic, enthusiastic and ready to continue their professional development. We provide high levels of support for all new staff, and emphasis teamwork, collegiality and a multidisciplinary approach leading to high quality patient care.

Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing April 2024
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary
$111,506 - 118,336 per annum + our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
Eligibility

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

- Relevant postgraduate qualifications
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty.
